It's Not All "Love & Light"

If you think the spiritual journey is all love and light, you are mistaken… As my friend would say - it’s not for the faint hearted.

I’m not about spiritual bypassing, or toxic positivity - this actually infuriates me.

This literally causes trauma to us, in our brains. We are gaslighting ourselves, when we deny our reality. While it’s good to have a positive mindset, this doesn’t mean that you ignore the not so great things that happen, or push your real feelings down. Positive people still get down, but they don't get stuck in a victim mentality. We must learn to feel our feelings and emotions, all of the emotions, even anger - and not beat ourselves up for feelings these things. It’s normal to have feelings - it’s part of being human. We are spiritual beings, having a HUMAN experience. Read that again. So all of the people who shame you for having feelings, and tell you to “just stay positive” all the time - they aren’t being true to themselves.

They’re bottling up emotions, which then causes illness within the mind & body. Psychology should be taught in schools, I believe the world would be a better place. We need to be taught at a young age, how to process our emotions. But this is another conversation for another day. What I’m trying to say is - don’t let people bullshit you or shame you for being upset, anxious, stressed, depressed, angry. It is normal to have these feelings, just try not to stay in them for too long. Spirituality isn't about being perfect, or constantly happy, it's about being your true, authentic self. ♥️
